According to a Nielsen study, iPhone users spend twice as much time gaming on their phones as a typical mobile gamer. The study also shows that over 90 percent of app downloaders spent money on a game over the last month, with iOS users being the most engaged.
The typical smartphone user spends nearly 15 hours per month playing games, while Android owners play at a rate of just over 9 hours each month. The overall median for all smartphone users engaging in mobile games is under 8 hours a month.
Games are currently the most popular app with 64 percent of users getting at least one game over the last month. Following close behind are weather apps at 60 percent and social networking apps at 56 percent.
