Be confident, not arrogant: Cocky is not a good thing. During an interview, avoid describing your self with words or phrases like “wonderful” or “great at.”
Keep a to-do list after you are hired: 1. Allow people to underestimate you. 2. Exceed their paltry expectations 3. Enjoy your promotion and laugh all the way to the bank.
Be honest with yourself: You are only wasting your time and energy by applying for jobs that you know you don’t qualify for. You will also end up demoralized in the end when you are overlooked.
Help, don’t criticize: A co-worker appreciates your help and cooperation much more than they do your negative input. What a co-worker will remember most is how you made them feel about themselves.
