Cities all across North America are constantly putting new programs into place to help clean up our earth and environment, but who is doing the most?
The Green City Index has determined that San Francisco is currently the greenest metropolis anywhere in Canada or the United States.
This study was commissioned by the Siemens Corp. and conducted by the EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit).
The study put 27 Canadian and American major cities side-by-side and gauged them on their environmental policies and performance in nine different categories, including energy, CO2 emissions, buildings, land usage, transportation, waste, water, environmental governance and air quality.
Rounding out the top five behind San Francisco were Vancouver, New York, Seattle and Denver.
