Contract awarded to Southeastern Data for e-Waste Recycling Palm Beach, Florida - The 185+ public schools that comprise the School District of Palm Beach County recently issued a bid for services related to the proper disposal of electronics and the management of their e-ewaste. This bid was awarded to Southeastern Data, an electronics recycling and e-waste company based in Orlando, Florida.
The School District of Palm Beach County’s proposal required certified recycling companies whose recycling processes provided asset management, data security, and environmental benefits. The continual upgrade of computer equipment, as well as maintaining more than 185 schools and numerous ancillary facilities, created a need for outside expertise in managing used and obsolete technology.
Southeastern Data has been providing data security and e-recycling services to schools, businesses, government offices, and other organizations throughout Florida and in several other states since 1996. They provide full logistics, electronics and computer recycling, data security, hard-drive shredding, IT asset management, and remarketing solutions.
Michael Stubblebine, President of Southeastern Data, is pleased to have been awarded the contract. “We have been providing computer and electronics recycling services to organizations in South Florida and saw a need for both a safe and sustainable way of disposing of electronic waste for the schools county wide.”
Southeastern Data is implementing the e-waste management program without delay. It began providing services to the District in July and is already scheduling a number of area drop-off events for the fall. In addition, a new Southeastern Data distribution location will open in Palm Beach County early this fall that will accept drop offs of e-waste from all organizations and residents.
